Blackboard Learn Format
The CPT20 course is an active course used as part of the offering of the Saskatoon Catholic Cyberschool. In the first year of offering, it was awarded the prestigious Blackboard Exemplary Course Award. It features many audio and video learning objects, makes great use of open source applications and is platform neutral. Founded in the latest in online educational research, the course makes use of such things as blended learning environments, student collaboration activities and multiple modes of delivery.
Animation 10 Online Course

The Animation 10 course is a NEW active course used as part of the offering of the Saskatoon Catholic Cyberschool. It features a "Secret Agent Spy Theme" features many audio and video learning objects. it was awarded the prestigious Blackboard Exemplary Course Award. It also makes great use of open source applications and is platform neutral. Students are led through 16 missions by following secret instructions along the way. Reporting back to “Headquarters” and “sharing intel with other agents” are methods of submitting learning for evaluation and feedback.
Photography 10 Hybrid Course
MOODLE - Format
The Photography 10 course is a Hybrid course used in blended learning as both a face to face and online course offering. It features a “Indiana Jones Theme" utilizing gaming theory and research. Students work through “Worlds” of activities, completing tasks and earning pieces to the puzzle as they advance. Puzzle pieces reward badges and unlock the next world where they face new activities, challenges and ultimately are rewarded with a certificate of completion.
Robotics & Automation 10 Cyber Course

Robotics and Automation 10 course is a Hybrid course used in blended learning as both a face to face and online course offering. Follow “Otto” the intergalactic robot through his planetary journey in search of his purpose. With the help of the student, he learns more about the history and origin of Robotics. In doing so, he unlocks the keys to the next stop in his journey. Features a keystone project where students learn about robotics, design, 3D printing and culminate their knowledge in a 3D Printed, autonomous / remote controlled self balancing robot.

Following the Sask Education new Robotics and Automation curriculum, the 20 level course is a Hybrid course used in blended learning as both face to face, and online course offerings. The 20 level course has a greater focus on software programming and AI. Follow OTTO again in part 2 of his quest across the galaxy to deepen his understanding of robotics in the present and future. With the assistance of students, Otto collects vital information required to complete the final keystone project, a 3D printed “spy robot” that streams video back to the controller via a mobile device.
Native Studies 10 Cyber Course

Social Organizations of First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples
This course is organized in the form of a game, respectfully making use of First Nations symbolisms and values as content of study, and in the navigation of the content and the organizing of units. Students are taken on a journey through the content represented by four "worlds". Each step of the journey has students challenged with "Quests" where they learn, demonstrate and earn "badges" of accomplishment. Completing "Level-up" challenges in the form of knowledge quizzes, grants students access to the next world in the journey. Teachings are provided through video, mixed media and text. Fun, challenging, rewarding, and valuable teachings about First Nations, Inuit and Metis history that every Canadian should know.
Native Studies 30 Cyber Course

Studies is based on the premise that distinct perspectives are common, that diversity of truth exists, and that he motivations for most behaviors and attitudes may be traced to the worldviews and philosophical orientations of people. Within Aboriginal philosophy, four dimensions of human nature (mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical) are identified and viewed as interrelated. These are developed through personal commitment. This course advocates a holistic, inquiry-based, activity-oriented approach. The aim of Indigenous Studies is to develop personal awareness and cultural understanding and to promote the development of positive attitudes in all students towards Indigenous peoples.
Computer Science 20 Hybrid Course
MOODLE - Format
Computer Science 20 is a hybrid course that introduces students to the world of computer programming using block programming. Students learn essential programming concepts while creating games and utilities in open source programs such as Scratch, Glitch and Reeborg. Applying new learning to more tangible practical applications, students utilizing robotic cars with Arduino controllers and program both autonomous and remote control examples. The last portion of the course has students move to pure python programming.
Financial Literacy 20 Cyber Course
MOODLE - Format
Instilling students with foundational knowledge, and skills in financial literacy, will help them approach basic, and complex issues associated with financial decisions. The purpose of Financial Literacy is to develop informed consumers with the habits, attitudes, and critical thinking skills necessary, to approach financial decisions with competence and confidence, both now and in their future lives. The curriculum and this course, addresses financial issues and decisions, that students may already be facing. It also highlights other issues they are likely to face in the first few years beyond high school. In addition, it touches upon more complex issues such as home ownership, debt management, and retirement planning, which are part of a lifelong financial journey. Course features: Social Media Collaborative Groupwork, Student reflection journalling, resources from the Government of Canada and most major Canadian Banks.
Visual Graphic Arts 90 Cyber Course
MOODLE - Format
The intent of this course is two fold; first, to introduce grade 9 students to Cyberschool and the Moodle LMS. Second, it’s content introduces the students to the digital arts electives they can choose from in the senior grades to come. Featuring “Freddy the surfing Frog”, students complete projects in Photography, Animation, Computer Science, and Digital Graphic Arts. Students have fun “surfing the globe” with Freddy earning surfing gear with each adventure to help them tackle “The Big Kahuna” at the end of the course.
